Meet Colt Jennings – A Proven Leader Committed to Anderson County

A proud Clinton High School graduate, Colt Jennings has dedicated his life in service to his country, his community, and now, to the people of Anderson County. He served honorably in the United States Army from 2004 to 2008 as part of the elite 82nd Airborne Division in multiple combat deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq as an Infantryman and Designated Marksman.
Following his military service, Colt spent a decade working in the rail and marine industries, gaining valuable experience in operations and logistics. He went on to pursue a career in law enforcement, graduating from the police academy in Pensacola, Florida. He began his law enforcement service with the Santa Rosa County SHERIFF’S OFFICE before returning home to Tennessee.
Over the past 3.5 years, Colt has served as a patrol deputy with the Anderson County SHERIFF’S OFFICE. He has completed specialized training in Patrol Basics, served as a Field Training Officer, and advanced through Instructor Development courses — all to better prepare and mentor the next generation of deputies.
Deeply rooted in the community, Colt is a longtime member of Faith Promise Church, where he has worshipped for over a decade. He is a former member of the Anderson County Council on Aging, a regular volunteer at the Anderson County Senior Center, and an active member of the American Legion Post 172.
Colt lives in Anderson County with his wife Kenia and two children, Elise and Wyatt. He is running for Sheriff to bring integrity, accountability, and modern leadership to the department and to ensure a safer, stronger future for all families in Anderson County.
